Jerilyn Sim, BScPT, FCAMT brings advanced professional training and over twenty-five years of experience to the treatment room. Born and raised a Saskatchewan farm girl, she is proud to continue to call Saskatchewan home, serving the residents of this great province throughout her career.
Physiotherapy is a rehabilitative science that requires 6 years of university, the final two within the College of Medicine. Sim Physiotherapy offers: manual therapy, therapeutic exercise prescription, dry needling, decompression therapy/traction and electrotherapeutic modalities. We have a variety of braces, K-tape, low back rolls, theraband, physiotherapy exercise balls, foam rollers and other rehab items on site for purchase. While a doctor's referral is welcome, it is not necessary to book an appointment or access care.
Treatments at Sim Physiotherapy focus on client education and development of self management strategies (so you can better understand the problem and learn how to help YOU). This, in combination with hands on manual therapy and therapeutic exercise prescription, moves you toward the goal of long term improved function and independence in self care. A thorough initial visit, including discussion of client goals, lays the foundation for a progressive treatment plan.
Sim Physiotherapy provides a friendly environment with your comfort in mind. Treatment rooms are private and are complimented by an inviting reception area and an open exercise instruction space. All manner of injuries are addressed including post operative care, rehabilitation following a sprain or fracture, whiplash, TMJ dysfunction, basic vertigo, introduction to Pelvic Floor rehabilitation, repetitive strain injuries, low back pain, arthritis and chronic pain. SGI, WCB and DVA approved with direct billing to these insurers. Most private healthcare insurance plans have coverage for physiotherapy. Check with your healthcare insurer for your individual plan's coverage.
Sim Physiotherapy is excited to be offering a Virtual Physiotherapy Service. COVID-19 motivated this added service and it will continue to be offered. With the use of a professionally approved, secure online platform, video conferencing from the comfort of your own home will allow a thorough subjective examination and a progressively graded objective examination with subsequent client education, support and development of appropriate exercise program. SGI and WCB are supportive of this treatment platform as are a growing number of private health plans with the onset of COVID-19. Check with your healthcare insurer to see if this works for you!
A combination of in-clinic experience and post graduate diploma achievement resulted in Jerilyn teaching post professional courses to other physios for a number of years. In 2010, Jerilyn decided to dedicate more time to her family and community, and opened Sim Physiotherapy. She has certification in pelvic floor rehabilitation and dry needling as well as manual therapy. Jerilyn continues to advance her knowledge with ongoing professional courses in a wide range of interest areas.
Marilyn is the first voice you'll hear when you call and first face you'll see when attending the clinic. She brings a calm and friendly presence to the front desk as well as serving a supportive role with client assistance, both over the phone and in the clinic setting.
